Anticipated Serendipity. An oxymoron, or it is? Can you anticipate serendipity, or by definition can you not? This is debatable and I like that about it. Welcome to my Blog.
Each post I make can be seen in the ‘Categories’ section seen to the left of this page, and each will be shown in order of most recent at the top.
Each ‘Page’ is a section in itself, the posts are in the ‘Categories’ areas. This Blog has been started on East Sunday 2008. There are several aspects to the Blog, all about things that are part of my life.
Health, Fitness and Weight-loss is about me losing 10kg. My life has been a bit of an emotional roller-coaster of the past 18 months and I put on 10 kg after getting back into the 80’s in August of 2006. It frustrating that I let that happen, but I need to look ahead and move that weight back off. I felt fabulous in the 80’s. Sure I was ‘cuddly’ but very happy being that way. I felt good and healthy, and I want that back. Plus there are clothes I will be able to wear again – that is a great motivation.
The Buddhism section is here because I am not religious, but the Buddhist, particularly the non-traditional Buddhist philosophies are very much me. I was so happy to realise this. It was in 2006 where I met a wonderful man called John, we worked together and he is a Zen Buddhist who brought to me so much richness and so many realisations about myself. He introduced me into mindfulness, equanimity and meditation, and many absolutely fascinating areas of study such as Zen and the brain. Juggling many things I have not made the time to look into this as much as I would have liked, but I will continue as and when I can.
The reading section is here to record the books I have read and my reviews on them.
Digital Scrapbooking is a great hobby that is new to me, I started in late 2007. Using Photoshop and resources on the Internet, plus my own photos I create layouts that are fun, creative, useful, entertaining and usually just lovely creative memories that are a step beyond a simple photograph. This goes nicely with my desire to increase my photography skills. I love to learn and so Digital Scrapbooking satisfies that, as does the Buddhism side of things.
I am also interested in life, theories, self help, people …. humanity, and to that end I continue to educate myself in the Myers Briggs, neurolinguistic programming, life coaching and psychology. An appreciator of Zig Zigler and Anthony Robbins I am continually inspired by these people and others. As much as they are ridiculed, fact is that they do make the world a better place and have been a big part in who I am. I took my son to a four day seminar in Sydney, Australia a few years ago. To be honest I dragged my son son there, but within 10 minutes he was fine and we bother got alot out of that weekend..we didn’t even get burned feet though we walked over hot burning coals on the first night.
Cool love your new blog and different sections.
If your into self help, LOA you should look at stevepavlina.com I find a lot of his articles to be great. I’m very interested to learn about Buddhism as well.
